Easy, playful skiing in pure Lapland snow
Altai skiing feels natural from the very first steps. The skis are short and wide, with a skin base that grips on uphills and glides on the flats – so you can explore Lapland’s snowy forests easily, even if you’ve never skied before.
We head into the quiet forests near Ivalo, where the snow is often untouched and the pace is relaxed. Prefer groomed tracks? Just tell us – we’ll tailor the route to your group: wilderness snow, prepared trails, or a mix of both.
Halfway through, we stop for a warm break with hot drinks and biscuits, and a moment to enjoy the silence of Lapland.

How the morning goes
- Pick-upWe collect you from your accommodation in Ivalo. The exact time is agreed by phone before the tour.
- 10:00 · Skis onA quick introduction to Altai skis and how to use them.
- Into the forestAbout 2 hours of relaxed skiing in the snowy forests near Ivalo.
- Warm breakHot drinks and biscuits in the middle of the wilderness.
- Around 12:30 · Back to your accommodationWe drop you off where we picked you up.
Good to know
- Altai skis are about 10 cm wide and 125–145 cm long, with a skin base for grip and stability.
- Dress in warm, layered outdoor clothing suitable for skiing – winter clothes are not included.
- On bright spring days the snow reflects strongly, so bring sunglasses.
- Minimum age 8 years. Because of the ski length, participants should be around 140 cm tall – ask us if you’re unsure.
- Your guide is happy to take photos of you with your own camera or phone – snowy forests make stunning photos.
- Pick-up from outside Ivalo can be arranged on request – just ask.
- The tour is run in English.

Choose your date
Send a booking request – this is not yet a confirmed booking. We’ll confirm your booking by email within 24 hours and call you about 1–1.5 hours before the tour to agree on the pick-up. Season: 1 December – 10 April.
Cancellation policy: cancellations made less than 4 days before the tour are charged 100% of the total price. Payment on the day by card or cash.
