An evening under the Arctic sky
Join Janne, a local aurora hunter, on a 3.5-hour evening drive through the quiet winter roads of Lapland. Relax in a warm minibus while we follow the forecasts and the sky – and head to where your chances are best.
Janne’s secret is simple: he doesn’t follow the crowds. Instead of the usual spots where every tour bus stops, he takes you to quiet places he has found over the years – away from the lights and the crowds, with open views to the northern sky.
Because we stay on the move, we can cover 120–200 km in one evening to find clear skies. When the Northern Lights appear, we stop in open nature – usually 3 to 6 times during the night – so you have time to step outside, watch the colours dance across the sky and take photos. Between the stops, you stay warm in the car.
We operate on nature’s terms – come with an open mind, we’ll take care of the rest.

How the evening goes
- 19:00–20:00 · Pick-upWe collect you from your accommodation in Ivalo, Inari or Saariselkä. The exact time depends on your group.
- 20:15 · The aurora hunt beginsWe drive towards the clearest skies and stop whenever the lights appear.
- Photos & hot drinksYour guide photographs you under the auroras while you warm up with a hot drink.
- Around 23:45 · Back to your accommodationWe drop you off where we picked you up.
Good to know
- Dress in 3–4 warm layers and wear windproof outerwear if possible.
- There are no toilets in the wilderness, so please use one before departure.
- Book early in your holiday – this gives us more chances to reschedule if the weather is challenging.
- The tour is run in English.

Choose your date
Send a booking request – this is not yet a confirmed booking. We’ll confirm your booking by email within 24 hours and call you about 1–1.5 hours before the tour to agree on the pick-up. Season: 25 August – 25 April.
Cancellation policy: cancellations made less than 4 days before the tour are charged 100% of the total price. Payment on the day by card or cash.
